Art That Connects

Welcome to the Apiary Art Show, a creative initiative designed to highlight artists from across the Gulf Coast and beyond. Our goal is to create a warm, supportive, and inspiring space where artists can share their work, connect with collectors, and take part in a growing arts community.

We invite artists working in a wide range of mediums - painting, photography, mixed media, sculpture, textiles, digital art, and more to apply for consideration.

Thank you for your interest in exhibiting at the Apiary Fairhope Art Show. Please review the following application guidelines, requirements, and legal agreement before applying.

Artist Schedule
• Artist Arrival & Set Up: Thursday, March 19 (evening times TBA).
• Show Hours: Friday, March 20 – Sunday, March 22 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
• Takedown and Artist Departure: Sunday, March 22 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Fees
• Application Fee: $50
• Indoor Booth Fee: $150

Artist Selection
Approximately 15–20 artists will be invited to participate in the Apiary Art Show, a curated fine art sale with a diversity of price points and media. Artists are chosen by a designated selection committee, whose members (jurors) include artists, designers, and supporters.

Application Requirements
• Artist applications must be accompanied by a short artist bio (no more than 5 sentences).
• Five (5) digital images of the artist’s artwork to be used on website/social media.
• Images must be current and represent the quality, average price points, consistency, and style of work the artist intends to exhibit.
• Respective prices for each image submitted must be included.
• Please ensure images are of high resolution.

Artist Amenities
• Advertising & Marketing: Extensive local and regional outreach, including digital and print promotion.
• Artist Hospitality: Catered meals, beverages, and snacks provided daily in a hospitality area. Volunteers available for support.
• Artist Booths: Indoor booths will include display hardware and access to electricity.
• Easy Check-Out System: Apiary is responsible for checkout and payment processing.
• Prompt Payment: Within three weeks of the Apiary Art Show, each artist will receive a direct deposit of 70% of gross sales along with a detailed report.

Rules & Regulations
• All works exhibited must be for sale and must be original, designed and produced by, or under the direct supervision of the exhibiting artist.
• The five (5) images submitted in the application must accurately represent the artist’s work and be of the same quality, range of price points, consistency and style that will be exhibited.
• Artists should designate their work in the media category that most closely corresponds to the majority of their items. Multiple applications per artist are not allowed.
• No commercial reproductions, posters or promotional products are permitted. A small number of limited, signed, high-quality reproductions may be allowed.
• Except in special circumstances, the artist must be present with his/her art during the show. Volunteers will be available for short breaks.
• Artists will display their works within their designated booths and have limited on-site storage for additional inventory.
• Two weeks prior to the show, each artist must provide a list of inventory, descriptions, and prices for barcoded price tags.

Artist Sales
Artists receive seventy percent (70%) of the total price of each item sold via the Apiary Art Show, with the remaining thirty percent (30%) going directly to the Apiary. Should any artwork be commissioned during the show or within 120 days following the Apiary Art Show, Apiary is to receive thirty percent (30%) of the total price of the item.

Sales Tax Responsibility
Exhibiting artists are responsible for applicable state sales tax due on the portion of the proceeds (70%) received by the artist.

Refund Policy
Application fees are nonrefundable. If, after accepting an invitation to participate, an artist is unable to participate, the potential for a booth fee refund will be left to the discretion of the Apiary Art Show Chairs.
